2.3 Color Images

Most color images are overlays of three greyscale images. It is possible to combine any number of channels to assign values from to to each matrix pixel. This is often performed for satellite images. Three channels can be combined to form a red-green-blue (RGB) colorspace, respectively. For the presentation on a video screen the RGB colorspace is often reduced to values between and since many screens can render only colors.
