3.2 Loading Files

After starting IDOLON with the command idolon the main window appears and a file can be loaded by clicking on the File button and afterwards on the Open button. The file selection popup menu is opened, which is shown in fig. 1.

The three channels can be assigned to a red, green and blue color space (fig. 2 left) by mouse clicks.

The color image Convergence.tff is loaded and rendered in the IDOLON window (fig. 3), where one can scroll over the image.

It is also possible to load the single channels as a greyscale image. This is convenient for the analysis of different bands from satellite images such as LANDSAT or SPOT scenes. The channel selection menu for greyscale images is shown in fig. 2 right.

Fig. 4 shows channel 1 as a greyscale image.

Click on channel 1, channel 2 or channel 3 to get greyscale images of the different channels.
